Meghan Stuck scored in the 78th minute to send the third seeded Pitt-Bradford women's soccer team past sixth seeded La Roche, 1-0, Saturday afternoon and into the AMCC tournament semifinals.

It was the second meeting between the two schools in the last 14 days, and unlike the first affair, Saturday's first round matchup in the AMCC tournament featured less offensive fireworks.

La Roche failed to capitalize on any of its five corner kick opportunities in the opening half. On back-to-back tries, Pitt-Bradford goalkeeper Sarah Dailey came through with consecutive saves.

The Redhawks' Vanessa Ceravolo attempted to push the visitors ahead in the closing seconds of the first half, but Dailey was equal to the task, collecting her fifth save of the period.

In the 78th minute, Pitt-Bradford earned a corner kick, and La Roche's Jessica Welka failed to corral the ball cleanly. Stuck gathered the rebound and finished in the lower left corner for the eventual game-winner. It was her third marker of the season.

The visitors countered with a pair of shots, and Dailey turned back the Redhawks on both occasions. With less than a minute to play, La Roche mounted one final attack only to see Dailey thwart its attempt at an equalizer one final time.

Dailey finished with nine saves while posting her sixth shutout of the season.

La Roche outshot the Panthers 19-18, and Pitt-Bradford held an 8-5 edge in corner kick attempts.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 9-5-4 and will travel to Pitt-Greensburg Wednesday for the AMCC tournament semifinals.

The Bobcats earned a bye after going 7-1-1 in conference play to earn the No. 2 seed. Their only tie was 3-3 decision versus the Panthers in double-overtime on Oct. 2.
