Second Half Goals Propel Panther Women to Victory

Second Half Goals Propel Panther Women to Victory

Kaitlyn Donnelly and Abbey Kalin both scored in the second half to lead the Pitt-Bradford women's soccer team past Mount Aloysius Saturday, 2-0.

With the regular season winding down and the No. 2 seed for the conference postseason tournament still undecided, the Panthers delivered arguably their best win yet.

The Mounties entered the match as one of the top defensive teams in the league, limiting opponents to 1.26 goals per game. Pitt-Bradford was limited to only seven shot attempts but that's all it would need.

The match was scoreless until the 66th minute when Donnelly cut through the defense to connect for her second goal of the season.

Kalin added an insurance tally in the final minute, unleashing a shot from the top of the box to seal the victory. It was her third tally of the season and second in the last three matches.

Sarah Dailey pitched her fifth shutout of the season in net, stopping five shots. The Pitt-Bradford defense was just as stingy as Mt. Aloysius, yielding only nine shots.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 8-5-3 on the year and 5-1-2 in the AMCC. The Panthers close out the regular season Tuesday by hosting D'Youville.
