Women's Soccer Falls to Alfred

Women's Soccer Falls to Alfred

The Pitt-Bradford women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Alfred Wednesday. It was the Panthers' final non-conference match of the year.

Jasmine Adams nearly put Pitt-Bradford on the board in the opening minutes, dribbling past the Alfred goalkeeper only to have her shot blocked at the last second by a Saxons' defender. Minutes later, Alfred converted in transition, jumping ahead 1-0. The score would remain that way until the second half when Pitt-Bradford's Meghan Thomas was whistled for a foul in the box. The Saxons converted the ensuing penalty kick and added another goal for good measure in the 63rd minute to cap the scoring.

The Panthers were aggressive on offense yet were turned back time and time again. Both teams attempted 13 shots and four corner kicks. Pitt-Bradford's Sarah Dailey finished with six saves in net.

The Panthers drop to 3-4-2 on the season and will host Pitt-Greensburg Sunday at 1 p.m.
