Late Rally Falls Short for Pitt-Bradford Women

Houghton built a two-goal lead and held on late to defeat the Pitt-Bradford women's soccer team 2-1 Tuesday evening. The loss snapped the Panthers' two-game winning streak.

The Highlanders opened the scoring in the 13th minute and stretched their lead to 2-0 early in the second half. Pitt-Bradford's Jade Adams cut the deficit in half, scoring her first career goal in the 87th minute, but the Panthers would fail to register another shot attempt before the final horn sounded.

Houghton outshot Pitt-Bradford 24-3 and attempted seven corner kicks to the Panthers' none. Sarah Dailey registered nine saves in net for Pitt-Bradford.

The Panthers drop to 2-2-1 on the season and will host Allegheny in their home opener Saturday at 1 p.m.
