Panthers Drop, 4-3, Heartbreaker to Behrend in AMCC Title Game

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team's season came to an end with a heartbreaking, 4-3, overtime-loss to Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Championship game on Saturday afternoon at the Kessel Athletic Complex.

"I thought we played very well at some moments and pretty poorly at others. We had several players put in excellent performances, especially Meghan Stuck," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Mike Idland. "But, in the end, it just really came down to one very special player for Behrend taking over the game."

Stuck scored two goals and Kaitlyn Donnelly added another. Kaitlyn Williams, Maggie Boehler and Delaney Houtz had the assists.

Sarah Dailey, Jamie Christensen and Stuck were named to the all-tournament team for their outstanding effort in the AMCC Championships.

Stuck scored the game's first two goals, heading the first one in off of a corner and then finishing a cross from Boehler in the 11th minute.

Olivia Belack quickly answered for the Lions in the 12th minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

The Lions then battled all the way back with two quick goals in the second half, taking a 3-2 lead in the 59th minute.

Donnelly then tied the game when she gathered a rebound off of a corner and hammered it into the goal in the 76th minute.

Belack's goal in the 98th minute gave the Lions the win.

"I think we have a lot to be proud of this season," Idland said. "We once again put ourselves in the frame to win the conference"
