Panthers Draw, 0-0, at Hilbert

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team played to a disappointing 0-0, draw at Hilbert in their regular season finale Tuesday afternoon.

"It was obvious we were poor today in the offensive third of the field," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Mike Idland. "It's also obvious that if we don't have players step up and take on the responsibilities of their jobs with more conviction, our postseason will be as disappointing as the end of our season."

Sarah Dailey posted her sixth shutout of the year, collecting five saves for the Panthers. Kaitlyn Williams finished with seven shots, including four on goal, while Kaitlyn Donnelly, Meghan Stuck and Ashley Parks had three shots on goal in the draw.

The Panthers outshot the Hawks 37-11 and held an 8-0 advantage in corners, but couldn't beat Hilbert keeper, Jenna Castricone, who posted 17 saves in the shutout for the Hawks.

Despite the 0-0 draw at Hilbert, the Panthers still maintain the top spot in the AMCC championships, which begin Saturday. Pitt-Bradford will open its postseason next Wednesday afternoon against the winner of the first round match between fifth-seeded D'youville and fourth-seeded La Roche.

"We worked very hard to earn the #1 seed in the tournament," Idland said. "Now, we need to act like the #1 team because that is our job."
