Thomas' First Goal Lifts Panthers to 1-0 Victory at D'Youville

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Meghan Thomas picked the perfect time to score her first goal of the season, as she led the University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team (8-6, 6-0) to a 1-0 victory at D'Youville (6-5, 3-2) on Tuesday afternoon.

"I was pleased with how disciplined our game was today," said Panthers head coach Mike Idland. "It's another three points against a strong team on the road, which is encouraging."

Thomas broke a scoreless tie with just over one minute to play, helping the Panthers remain unbeaten in conference play. Sarah Dailey was outstanding in net yet again, collecting four saves and posting her fifth shutout of the season.

"We're all very happy and excited for Meghan Thomas," Idland said. "She opened her scoring account with such an important goal for us."

Kaitlyn William had three shots on goal while Delaney Houtz added two. Grace Dadzaa and Maggie Boehler chipped in with one shot each in the victory.

The Panthers continue AMCC play Saturday afternoon at 3:15 against Penn State Altoona at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
