Cardinals Top Panthers, 3-1

BRADFORD, Pa. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team fought hard, but ultimately fell, 3-1, to St. John Fisher on Sunday afternoon at the Kessel Athletic Complex.

It was the second game in as many days for the Panthers, following a 4-3 victory over Alfred State on Saturday.

"I actually thought it may have been our best game of the season," said Panthers head coach Mike Idland. "I am very pleased with how we played on both sides of the ball and most of all, with the effort and work rate that went into the game."

Kaitlynn Donnelly scored the Panther's lone goal on a crisp shot from a perfect one touch from Meghan Stuck in the 43rd minute. Sarah Dailey tallied eight saves in goal for the Panthers.

The Cardinals added two goals midway through the first half and a third goal in the 66th minute, capping the 3-1 victory.

"Playing the day after a hard fought game is always tough, and it's especially tough when you're going up against a fully rested, quality team like St. John Fisher it is nearly impossible." Idland said. "The team was great today and the goal from Donnelly was sensational."

Pitt-Bradford returns to action Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Allegheny.
