BUFFALO, N.Y. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team dropped a tough, 4-2 decision, at Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon.
Kaitlyn Williams led the Panthers with one goal, while Meghan Stuck added an assist. Pitt-Bradford's second goal came on a Bengals' own goal late in the first half.
"It was a very disappointing game," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Mike Idland. "To drop two leads in one game is really unforgivable."
The Panthers took their first lead when Williams chipped one over the keeper in the 25th minute.
Buffalo State answered with a goal of their own just one minute later, knotting the score at 1-1 in the 27th minute.
Pitt-Bradford then regained the lead after a Bengals' player headed it into her own goal in the 33rd minute.
Buffalo State again tied the game in the 39th minute and then took the lead in the 42nd minute.
The Bengals added their fourth goal with just seconds left, capping the 4-2 victory.
"The shame of it is, we scored a gorgeous goal, and did enough to win the game," Idland said. "A lack of discipline and focus in key moments cost us the game."
With the loss, the Panthers fall to 1-3 and Buffalo State improves to 2-3 on the season.
Pitt-Bradford returns to action Tuesday afternoon at 3 against Houghton at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
