BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford wrestling team celebrated a historic day Saturday as the first-year program hosted the first home event in history as SUNY Brockport and Thiel came to the KOA Arena for a tri-meet.

"I think the guys competed really hard today," Head Coach Colin Johnston said. "I saw a lot of really good stuff that we are working on in the room being used out on the mat today. I think the support we had at our first home match was great. There were tons of people there it was just a great atmosphere."

The day got started with Brockport topping Thiel at 1 p.m.

Then the Panthers hit the mat embellished with their logo, name and colors for the first time.

Brockport took wins in the first four bouts but then stepped in Victor Elias wrestling at 157 lb.

Elias pinned his opponent Zack Brown to earn the first home win in program history and setting off the near-sellout crowd.

A win by decision and three-straight pins gave Brockport a hefty lead heading into the 285 lb. bout.

But Sam Colebert pinned his opponent to bring the final score to 40-12 in favor of Brockport.

Thiel then swapped with Brockport and the Panthers battled the Tomcats.

Pitt-Bradford started strong with wins from Elijah Hernandez (125 lb.), Kendric Moore (133 lb.) and Neiko Kuntz (141 lb.).

Thiel then took the next six matchups, until Colebert earned his second win of the day in the 285 lb. matchup.

The Tomcats eventually took the decision, 31-15.

Pitt-Bradford will hit the road to compete in the Mount Union Open on Jan. 20 before competing in a dual at Alfred State on Jan. 22. The Panthers will then return home for the final home action of the season, a dual against Penn State-Behrend on Feb. 6.
