Panthers Win Two at Day 1 of 2nd AMCC Round Robin

Altoona, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford bowling team was able to pick up two victories in five matches at the first day of the 2nd AMCC Round Robin of the season. 

The Panthers started their day with a 764-610 victory over LaRoche. Juliet Pinkney led the way for the Panthers with a 168 in the opening match, while Jenna Lofaro was just behind her with a score of 166. Jordyn Graham rolled a162 in the game. 

Pitt-Bradford finished with their highest pinfall in the second match of the day but were outscored by Medaille 837-807. Lofaro led the way with a team-high score of 194 pins. Graham and Pinkney put up strong scores in the second match as well, finishing with a 169 and 168.

The Panthers struggled in game 3, losing to Penn State-Behrend 714-650 but were able to battle back in the 4th matchup of the day to pick up a second win. They defeated Hilbert, a team that they lost to in the first round-robin, 672-637. Chasity Kocher posted the highest score for the Panthers with a 151.  

The fifth and final game of the day saw the Panthers knock down an impressive 757 pins, but were overcome by D'Youville's 872. Kocher bowled her and the team's best match of the day, posting a 205 in the final game. Graham bowled her 3rd 160+ game of the day with a 163 and Mercedes Fox rolled a 145 to close the day.

Pitt-Bradford had a well balanced day as four different Panthers averaged more than 150 pins per match on the day. The averages are listed below.

Chasity Kocher - 155.50 pins in 4 matches

Jenna Lofaro - 152.35 pins in 4 matches

Juliet Pinkney - 150.0 pins in 4 matches

Ekaterina Wilson - 132.0 pins in 5 matches

Mercedes Fox - 135.5 pins in 2 matches

Abbie Buerkle - 112.0 pins in 1 match

 

The Panthers are in 7th place after 1 day of competition. They have the same record as 6th place New Jersey City but trail them on total pinfall by 78 pins. They will be back in action for the final 4 matches of the round-robin tomorrow.
