Panther Bowlers set Season Highs Despite Losses to Saint Vincent

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team lost three matches to Saint Vincent on Saturday Afternoon. The teams bowled 2 traditional matches and 1 Baker match. The Bearcats won the traditional matches 905-775 and 968-840. They took the 5 game Baker match 906-738.

  • The Panthers set season highs in both of their traditional matches and were unfortunate to be bowling against one of the top teams in the conference. In the first match, they rolled a 775. It included a 182 from Emily Snyder, a 168 for Jenna Lofaro, a 160 for Chasity Kocher and a 152 for Ekaterina Wilson
  • Pitt-Bradford didn't rest on their laurels heading into the second match. They beat their new season-best score by 65 pins, rolling an 840 in the match. Snyder rolled an incredible 246 in the match. Lofaro and Wilson also increased their scores from their first match, rolling a 172 an a 169.
  • Snyder averaged 214 in the traditional format. Lofaro, who was honored on Bowling's Senior Day, averaged 170 pins in the format. 
  • In the Baker format, the Panthers bowled to a strong score of 738. Their high game of the match was in the second contest when they rolled a 178.
  • Snyder led the Panthers in Baker average with a 145. Jordan Graham averaged a 137 and Abbie Buerkle averaged a 132.

Head Coach Gregg Hoover said, "They are getting used to the lane patterns and really getting along as a team and the scores show it. Hopefully, we can keep this momentum into the second AMCC Round Robin match."

The Panthers will have a week before their next competition, a dual match at Penn State Behrend before heading to Altoona for the 2nd AMCC Round Robin on March 7th.
