Panthers Pick Up 4 Victories at Br. Pat Lacey Memorial

Greensburg, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford bowling team won four of their five matches on Sunday at the Brother Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament hosted by Saint Vincent College. All five matches were bowled in the Traditional format, with the team total pinfall determining the winners.

  • The day got off to a slow start for the Panthers, as they fell to Daemen 891-576. Jordyn Graham bowled a 146 while Chasity Kocher posted a 133.
  • Pitt-Bradford struck back in their second match, posting a 691 on their way to a 43 pin victory over Villa Maria. All 5 panther bowlers surpassed the 100 mark in the game. Juliet Pinkney rolled the high game for the Panthers with a 160. Graham bowled a 143 while Emily Snyder finished just behind with a 139.
  • The Panthers hit their stride in the third matchup of the day, beating Penn State-Altoona 715-546. Mercedes Fox entered the action and rolled an impressive 172 in her first game of the day. Snyder finished just behind her with a 166.
  • Game 4 saw the Panthers take on the Lions in a rematch and Pitt-Bradford was able to come away with a 650-589 victory. Graham regained her spot as the team's high bowler, posting a 157. 
  • The Panthers closed action with their tightest match of the day. They took a rematch with Villa Maria by a score of 669-653. Graham posted the high score once again for Pitt-Bradford, while Ekaterina Wilson bowled her highest-scoring game of the day with a 145.

Jordyn Graham had the highest average for the Panthers on the day. She bowled in all 5 matches, averaging 145.8 pins per match. Emily Snyder was the only other Panther to participate in all 5 of the day's matches, knocking down 133 pins per match. Mercedes Fox bowled in three games but had an efficient day as she averaged 141.3 pins per match in those 3 contests. Her 172 in game 3 was the highest-scoring individual game for her team in the event.

The Panthers will return to action next Saturday, as they host Saint Vincent College at 12:00 p.m. The match will be held at Byllye Lanes in Bradford.
