BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team saw its championship run come to a close Saturday as it fell to No. 3 Saint Vincent in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Second Round Saturday at Sims Lanes.

The defeat at the hands of Saint Vincent was the Panthers' second of the double-elimination event, as they dropped the opening round action to No. 1 Medaille Friday evening.

"We made a good run late in the year," Head Coach Greg Hoover said. "The girls should hold their heads up high. I thank them for the effort they made. We will miss our senior Bryce next year, but there is a lot to look forward to."

To start the morning, Saint Vincent took the traditional match 865-663 then took four of the five baker games with an 811-711 total pinfall advantage to complete the win.

Kelsey Hammons was the team's top performer in traditional scoring during the event, averaging 174.5 pins per game. Saturday, she led the Panthers with a score of 159.

Jenna Lofaro was close behind with a score of 154 while Trisha McElroy rolled a 137.

Bryce Holm closed out her collegiate career with a score of 112 and Abbie Buerkle rounded out the Panther performers with a 101.

Pitt-Bradford's best baker score came in game one with 156.

The Panthers then scored 140, 143, 133 and 139 to amount to their 711 total pinfall, short of Saint Vincent's 811 pins.

Saint Vincent advanced to face No. 2 Mount Aloysius in the next round. The two teams put together a long, competitive match, but ultimately the Mounties came out on top to advance.

Mount Aloysius will face Medaille in the AMCC Championship match Sunday. 

The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid and represent the conference in the 2019 NCAA Championships later this spring.
