BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team is set to compete for the 2018-19 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference title this weekend at Sims Lanes in Beaver Falls, Pa.
The three-day, double elimination mega match formatted tournament starts Friday evening, continues to Saturday and ends with a conference champion crowned Sunday.
New this year, the AMCC champion will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in Wickliffe, Ohio.
As the No. 4 seed, Pitt-Bradford will take on No. 1 Medaille in the first round. Medaille finished the season 13-1 in conference play.
On March 3, Pitt-Bradford went 4-3 in the second AMCC Round Robin to finish the conference season 7-7.
The Panthers' record is good enough for the No. 4 seed and a qualification in the AMCC Championship Tournament.
Kelsey Hammons put up the Panthers' team high on Saturday with a lofty 198 during game four. She also rolled a 188 in the opening contest.
Saturday, Bryce Holm rolled a 181 during game two to aid the Panthers' efforts.
Then on Sunday, Abbie Buerkle rolled a 193 to power the Panthers' 832 effort against Mount Aloysius.
Pitt-Bradford is led by sophomore Hammons, whose 17.064 average score per frame ranks 12th in the AMCC.
Friday's action is set for a 4 p.m. start.
