Panthers Grab Three Wins In Lacey Memorial Tournament Sunday

GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team competed in the Brother Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament hosted by Saint Vincent Sunday.

Pitt-Bradford finished the event with a 3-1 mark and 3,449 total pinfall for eighth place in the event.

"Really proud of the girls," Head Coach Gregg Hoover said. "The oil pattern was a flat difficult one. Averages showed that. But we still went 3-1 against AMCC rivals."

Medaille captured the win at the event, going 4-1 with 4,373 total pinfall.

The Panthers started the event competing against the host Saint Vincent and fell, 962-648.

Pitt-Bradford then competed in the bye position and rolled 680 before coming out on top over Penn State-Behrend, 725-715.

The Panthers later defeated Penn State-Altoona (682-562) and again Penn State-Behrend (684-656).

Kelsey Hammons was the team's top performer, ranking 19th in the event of 64 with an average of 158.0 pins per game.

Close behind was Trisha McElroy, who ranked 22nd with an average of 148.0 pins per game.

Bryce Holm ranked 25th in the event with an average of 137.6 pins per game.

Mercedes Fox was 34th with an average of 125.2 pins and Jenna Lofaro was 35th averaging 121.0 pins.

As a team, Pitt-Bradford averaged 138.0 pins per game individually.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on March 2 competing in the second AMCC Round Robin, rounding out its regular season.
