Tight Baker Round Sends Behrend Past Panthers On Senior Day

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team hosted Penn State-Behrend for its final home match of the season at Byllye Lanes Tuesday.

Prior to the start of the competition, the program honored Bryce Holm for Senior Day.

Penn State-Behrend started by winning the first team total pinfall game, 768-754.

Pitt-Bradford answered with an 804-672 win in game two.

But the Lions took the third point with a 4-0 win in baker format.

"Tough loss," Interim Head Coach Greg Hoover said. "Mental breakdown after the big win last week. One break in any game and we win every baker game."

In team scoring, the Panther anchor Kelsey Hammons led the squad in game one with a score of 185. Trisha McElroy was next at 158.

Then in game two, Mackenzie Bonyak was the top Panther performer with a score of 185. Jenno Lofaro was next at 175 and Hammons was close behind at 172.

All four baker games were close, with Behrend finding the advantage in each: 157-150, 172-156, 152-151 and 140-135.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will compete against Mount Aloysius this Sunday in Clearfield, Pa.
