Kelsey Hammons Named AMCC Bowling Player of the Week

Official AMCC Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Sophomore Kelsey Hammons of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for her performance during the period of Nov. 5-11, conference officials announced Wednesday.

"Kelsey has a lot of potential to offer for Pitt-Bradford this season and I'm glad to see her with this honor for this week," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "I see more honors for her as the season goes on and as she continues her collegiate career at Pitt Bradford."

Hammons helped power the Panthers to a 6-1 weekend against a pair of AMCC opponents, defeating Penn State-Behrend Saturday before traveling to Penn State-Altoona Sunday.

The Panthers captured a win in the first match against Behrend, dropped the second, then won the third and took the overall pinfall.

Then at Altoona, Pitt-Bradford won all three matches, claiming wins in both traditional matches and baker.

At Behrend, Hammons was the top performer for the Panthers with 566 total pins, leading Pitt-Bradford to a pair of traditional wins and the overall pinfall victory.

On Sunday, Hammons averaged 178 pins in the two traditional matches before leading the team with a 16.9 baker average.

For the weekend, she averaged 183 pins in the traditional matches.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will compete in the three-day Wildcat DII-DIII Invitational in New Castle, Del., from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
