Panthers Wrap Up Action In Medaille Invitational

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team wrapped up action in the Medaille Invitational Sunday.

The Panthers played five matches of baker scoring, going 1-4.

"The girls bowled a lot this weekend, an equivalent of 10 games each this weekend," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "Two of the girls had injuries and pushed through it. Kelsey Hammons did very well today despite having a few unlucky breaks. She averaged 17.18 pins per frame. Trisha McElroy, even though she had an injury, managed to have a 16 pins-per-frame average. Today showed us that we need to work on spares. We had too many low games during baker. We have the talent to do better. We just need to access that talent on the lanes."

Pitt-Bradford started the day falling 905-699 to Roberts Wesleyan, then lost 795-735 to Villa Maria.

The Panthers then grabbed a win against Penn State-Behrend, 776-657, highlighted by a 226 score as a team in Game 2.

The day's action was concluded with an 876-678 loss to Daemen and an 865-835 loss to Medaille.

In addition to Hammons and McElroy's strong play, the Panthers Mackenzie Bonyak averaged 15.43 pins per frame while Bryce Holm earned a 14.69 mark.

Jenna Lofaro earned 11.55 pins per frame for the Panthers.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will be in action Sunday at Saint Vincent.
