Pitt-Bradford Wraps Up Regular Season At Saint Vincent Tournament

LATROBE, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team wrapped up its 2017-18 regular season Sunday competing in the Saint Vincent Tournament.

"The girls would hit the pocket, but we couldn't get the carry like everyone else was," Head Coach Sarah Foley said. "The girls did the best they could under the circumstances. Today showed that we still need to work on our spares as we had many opens as a team, which cost us many opportunities to win. Megan did well in the beginning, starting out with a 207. The 207 was the highest for us today and it is Megan's highest game as a Panther."

The teams played three games, and the total pin fall for the three games determined the seeds.

Pitt-Bradford earned 2,302 total pins, ranking them fourth.

The Panthers found a win in their first game against Ursuline, 783-772. They then lost their next two against Saint Vincent (823-761) and Daemen (885-758).

The Panthers were matched up with the No. 1 ranked Daemen but fell 817-683.

In the match for third place, the Panthers took on the host Saint Vincent but once again fell, 833-765, and finished fourth in the tournament.

Pitt-Bradford's top performer was Kelsey Hammons with 842 pins. Haley Ward was next with 830 pins.

Hammons was ranked the 11th-best performer in the event while Ward was ranked 14th.

Megan Stinnard knocked down 776 pins to rank 20th for the event.

Jenna Lofaro recorded 710 pins while Abbey Kalin earned 592 to round out the Panther competitors.

Second to Stinnard's 207 pins in the first game, Hammons had the next highest single-game score with 201 pins in the final game.

Sunday's action wraps up the Panthers' regular season. Pitt-Bradford will next compete in the 2018 AMCC Championship on March 3 as the No. 3 seeded team in the conference.
