Women's Basketball Starts AMCC Play with Hilbert Tuesday Night

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team will begin conference play when they host the Hilbert Hawks on Tuesday night.

The Panthers will look to get a jump start on their season, as it has begun with 4 non-conference losses. Pitt-Bradford began their season with a loss to Fredonia, lost two games at the Gwynedd Mercy Tip-off Tournament, and fell to John Carroll in their home opener over the weekend. Junior Guard Shaelyn Snipes has led the Panthers offense, as she has averaged 12.5 points per game over the first four contests. Jenna Hicks has been at the forefront of the Panthers rebounding effort, grabbing 9.8 per game. 

The Hawks have started their season 2-3, and are coming off of a 60-47 loss to D'Youville. They are led by two seniors, who average over 15 points per game. Taylor Corts has scored 18.2 per game and Emily Gawlak is averaging 16.2 points per game. Corts also leads the Hawks in rebounding, as she averages 7 a game. Hilbert was selected to finish 2nd in the AMCC's annual pre season poll.

The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tip-off may be delayed, as it will begin at least 20 minutes after the completion of the men's game.
