Women's Basketball to Host John Carroll for Home Opener Saturday Afternoon

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team will open up their home slate on Saturday afternoon when they host the Blue Streak of John Carroll University.

The Panthers have gotten off to a slow start to the season, dropping each of their first three games. They fell in the season opener at Fredonia State, and then lost two at the Gwynedd Mercy Tip-off Tournament. They have been led by Junior Shaelyn Snipes, who has averaged 13.7 points per game over the first 3 contests. She is shooting 40% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. Senior Jenna Hicks has been a force on the boards for the Panthers, as she has pulled in 10 rebounds per game so far this season. Her average is the third best in the AMCC. 

The Blue Streak are 2-1 so far this season. They easily won both games in their tip-off tournament, including an 84-47 victory over AMCC member LaRoche University. In their last game, they fell to Denison on the road. John Caroll's offense is led by Olivia Nagy, who has averaged 15.7 points and 8.3 rebounds a game thus far. Nicole Heffington has recorded similar statistics, averaging 13.7 and 8.0 over the first three games. 

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday the 22nd.
