BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team secured the No. 3 seed in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament with its third-straight win, a 59-51 victory over Penn State-Behrend Saturday on Senior Day at the KOA Arena.
"Great to get a win on Senior Day," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "Another day of balanced scoring and 40-minute focus. It is great to see our maturity as a team. I'm excited and ready to get geared up for playoffs."
Pitt-Bradford finishes 11-12 overall 10-8 in AMCC play to finish third in the conference while Penn State-Behrend finishes 8-10 and takes the AMCC No. 5 seed. Penn State-Altoona is also in as the No. 4 seed at 10-8.
The Panthers will host No. 6 Mount Aloysius Wednesday at the KOA Arena for the AMCC First Round.
La Roche earns the top seed in the AMCC Tournament and will host next weekend's semifinals and final matchups. Hilbert is the No. 2 seed. Both teams earn a bye to the semifinals.
The winner of Wednesday's matchup at the KOA Arena will advance to play No. 2 Hilbert at La Roche Saturday.
Prior to the start of the game, Pitt-Bradford honored Jennifer Isenberg and Etreece Adams for Senior Day.
Isenberg led all scorers with 20 points and also collected eight boards.
Shaelyn Snipes dropped 13 points while knocking down four three-pointers.
Running the point for the Panthers, Latifah Cain poured in 11 points and dished seven assists for the Panthers.
A defensive struggle, Pitt-Bradford forced 25 Behrend turnovers with 13 steals while the Lions forced 24 Panther turnovers with 11 steals.
A pair of three-pointers from Snipes and four buckets for eight points from Isenberg in the opening quarter highlighted a 14-11 effort that gave the Panthers the lead in the first.
Pitt-Bradford then shot 54.5 percent in the second and extended its lead, capping the half with a layup at the buzzer from Isenberg to take a 30-22 lead into the half.
Both teams struggled from the floor in the third quarter, as they combined for 11 turnovers and seven buckets.
Behrend came through with a 10-9 advantage in the third and sent the game into the final quarter 39-32 in favor of the Panthers.
But Pitt-Bradford was able to hold off the Lions, eventually hitting free throws to hold them off and secure the win.
Wednesday's home playoff game is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
