BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team picked up a bounce-back Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory over Franciscan Monday at the KOA Arena, 65-48.
With the win, Pitt-Bradford improves to 8-8 in AMCC action, tied for fourth in the conference. Franciscan drops to 2-14 in conference play with the result.
"We finally got our shooters back to shooting well today," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "I was extremely proud of the team for building momentum and sticking with it. We played as a team today and were able to come out on top and for that I am proud."
As a team, Pitt-Bradford knocked down 10 three-pointers, the program's most since the Panthers made 14 in the double-overtime AMCC semifinal contest against Mount Aloysius last season on Feb. 24, 2018.
Shaelyn Snipes knocked down seven three-pointers -- one shy of tying the program single-game record -- to lead all scorers with 23 points.
Etreece Adams and Shirleah Ragin dropped 11 points each to help power the Panther offense.
Pitt-Bradford matched its strong offensive output with a stifling defensive effort, forcing 22 Franciscan turnovers.
Jasmin Miller blocked a Pitt-Bradford season-high six shots to highlight the Panther defensive effort.
Jennifer Isenberg collected three of the team's 11 steals.
After a level opening quarter, Pitt-Bradford stifled Franciscan to just six points in the second period and the Panthers went onto take a 31-22 lead into halftime.
Pitt-Bradford then used a lopsided third quarter to open up the game. Snipes knocked down a pair of three-pointers and Ragin added one and Pitt-Bradford took a commanding 49-33 lead into the final quarter.
Two more three-balls from Snipes and four points from Adams in the fourth highlighted a Panther offensive effort that proved good enough to hold off Franciscan for the win.
Pitt-Bradford outrebounded Franciscan, 47-39. Miller pulled in a game-high nine rebounds.
Latifah Cain dished a game-high nine assists while playing a game-high 37 minutes running the point for Pitt-Bradford.
Up next, Pitt-Bradford will wrap up its regular season at the KOA Arena with two-straight home games, hosting Penn State-Altoona Wednesday and Penn State-Behrend Saturday.
