BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team and the Hilbert Hawks put together a tough, hard-fought Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest Thursday at the KOA Arena, with Hilbert ultimately coming out on top, 69-65.

With the results, Pitt-Bradford moves to 7-7 in AMCC action while Hilbert improves to 12-3 and regains its status atop the conference.

"We fought all the way until the end," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "But poor decisions put us in a tough game situation. I am proud of how we fought until the final buzzer. I believe in us and we will get them next time in playoffs."

The matchup was dubbed the AMCC Game of the Week prior to tipoff and it did not disappoint, as the lead changed hands nine times and was tied 12 different instances throughout. 

Jennifer Isenberg led the Panthers with 22 points.

Etreece Adams had a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards.

Shirleah Ragin chipped in 12 points.

A defensive struggle, Hilbert just narrowly outshot the Panthers 38.1 percent to 37.1 percent.

Pitt-Bradford forced 18 Hilbert turnovers and had 16 of its own turnovers. 

Shaelyn Snipes collected five steals and dished six assisted to lead the Panthers.

Both teams stayed even in the early minutes, but a Panther run late in the first half sent Pitt-Bradford into the break ahead, 34-29.

But Hilbert climbed back, knocking down a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter to tighten the Pitt-Bradford lead to 48-46 heading into the closing quarter.

Each team connected on seven buckets in the final period but Hilbert went 9-12 from the free-throw line in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Down 66-65 with 15 seconds left, Pitt-Bradford had a chance to take the lead but a Snipes three-pointer from the corner went off the mark.

Hilbert went down and made a free-throw after a Pitt-Bradford foul to go up 67-65.

On the other end, Isenberg got off a clean look on a runner in the lane but it bounced around no good.

Hilbert would go onto hold on for the win.

Pitt-Bradford scored 14 points out on the break.

Isenberg and Adams each blocked a pair of shots.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will travel to Mount Aloysius for an AMCC contest Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
