ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team has been selected to finish second in the 2018-19 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Coaches' Poll, conference officials announced Monday.
Additionally, senior forward Jennifer Isenberg was named Co-Preseason Player of the Year, sharing the honor with junior guard Finnley Christine from Penn State-Altoona.
"I am extremely happy for Jen and elated the conference recognizes her hard work and consistency," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "Being picked No. 2 in the conference brings excitement to the program. With our newcomers, it gives them an idea of the standard we uphold in our program and the goals we set out to achieve."
Isenberg is the AMCC's leading returning rebounder with 10.3 boards per game last season. She finished 11th in the AMCC last year with 14.7 points per game and 15 points per game in conference play.
The Sheffield, Pa., native finished first on the team and fourth in the AMCC with 4.1 offensive rebounds per game, scored in double-figures in 20 games and had eight games scoring 20 points or more.
She scored a career-high 27 points in the double-overtime AMCC semifinals game against Mount Aloysius College on February 24, including a game-tying three-pointer in the closing seconds of overtime that forced double-OT.
A season ago, Pitt-Bradford finished 15-11 overall and 11-7 in conference play, earning the No. 3 seed in the AMCC Championship Tournament.
Pitt-Bradford hosted No. 6 La Roche in the AMCC First Round and beat them for the third time that season, 78-69, on Feb. 21 to advance to the Conference Semifinals, where they lost a double-overtime heartbreaker to Mount Aloysius.
This is the second-straight season Pitt-Bradford has been selected to finish second in the conference in the annual Preseason Coaches' Poll.
It is also the season-consecutive season the Panthers have had the Preseason Player of the Year, as a season ago senior guard Ali Rinfrette garnered the honor.
Pitt-Bradford will open its season Friday at Houghton before playing its home opener the next day against Chatham at 3 p.m.
