UPB Women Dominate Franciscan in AMCC Opener

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team dominated Franciscan University in their AMCC opener, defeating the Barons, 80-45, on Saturday afternoon at the KOA Arena.

"We had a great defensive game, holding them to just 45 points on 13 made field goals," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Sean Brown Sr. "Everyone stepped up and contributed to this victory."

Ali Rinfrette led the Panthers with a double-double, pouring in 20 points and 13 rebounds. Kaserra Owens followed with a double-double of her own, notching 11 points and 10 boards. Darien Lantz added nine points and two steals while Ashley Fleming chipped in with nine points off of the bench in the win.

The UPB defense held Franciscan to just 24% from the field while forcing 21 turnovers. The Panthers also held a 67-36 advantage on the boards in the victory.

The Panthers opened the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back, leading by as many as 37 with two minutes left.

UPB continues AMCC play Wednesday at Penn State Behrend at 8 p.m.
