Panthers To Host La Roche For Senior Day Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team will host La Roche for its final home Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheader Saturday at the Kessel Athletic Complex.

Prior to the 3 p.m. first pitch, Pitt-Bradford will honor Lindsey Hull, Madison East, Maddy Hillery, Liz Dzurisin and Grace Dadzaa for Senior Day.

The Panthers enter the weekend with a 20-12 overall record and an 8-4 AMCC mark, which is good for third place in the conference.

Pitt-Bradford's 20 wins are the program's most since the 2014 squad won 23 games.

The Panthers are coming off a split with D'Youville Thursday, taking game one 5-2 before falling 8-1 in the second game.

Jordan Uhing improved to 12-3 on the season, keeping pace with Penn State-Behrend's A.J. Nichols tied for the most wins in the AMCC.

Gabby Carpenter scored Grace Dadzaa on a double to center for the Panthers' first run, then came into score on a double from Maddy Hillery.

Later with Hillery and Hannah Lathrop aboard, Madison East ripped a single to right that got under the glove of the right fielder and rolled all the way to the fence.

Hillery and Lathrop scored on the play as East circled the bases, giving the Panthers a 5-2 lead.

Then in game two, Carpenter once again grabbed a pair of hits, as did Chandler White and Lathrop.

Hillery is third in the AMCC with a .435 batting average and 27 RBIs. Her batting average against AMCC opponents is a staggering .571, which is good for second in the conference.

Carpenter also has a batting average above .400, now hitting .402 and .413 in AMCC action.

La Roche owns an 8-20 overall record and a 3-9 mark in AMCC action.

Alexis Medva is fifth in the AMCC with a .416 batting average and second with a .516 on-base percentage. In the circle, Alexis Young is third in the AMCC with 83 strikeouts.

Saturday's games are set for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. starts. The start times were pushed back due to expected rain.
