Pitt-Bradford Softball Set To Travel To Altoona For AMCC Doubleheader Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team is set to hit the road Saturday for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference doubleheader at Penn State-Altoona.

Pitt-Bradford (17-11, 5-3 AMCC) is coming off a sweep of Medaille Wednesday, which gave the Panthers wins in seven of their last eight games.

As part of the win, Madison East, Liz Dzurisin and Maddy Hillery picked up their 100th career hits.

Jordan Uhing improved to 10-3 on the season with a complete-game victory in the circle in game one.

Gabby Carpenter went a combined for a 6-for-9 day with four RBIs, a triple, a run scored and a stolen base. Carpenter has elevated her season batting average to .402.

Hillery's .439 batting average is fourth-best in the AMCC and her 24 RBIs are tied for third most. 

Penn State-Altoona welcomes the Panthers with a 10-12 overall record and a 1-5 mark in AMCC action.

Offensively, Altoona is led by Haley Giedroc, who has a pair of homers, nine stolen bases and 12 RBIs while hitting .370.

A pair of freshmen Sarah Gearhart and Sidney Lewis split the bulk of the time in the circle for the Lions.

Action in Altoona is set for a 1 p.m. start with game two beginning around 3 p.m.
