ALFRED, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team extended its win streak to four straight with a non-conference sweep at Alfred State Thursday.

A tale of two games, Pitt-Bradford (14-10) came out on top in a pitchers' duel in game one, 1-0, then put together an offensive eruption in game two for an 11-1 victory in five innings.

"Melissa was clutch again for us to get us that first-game win," Head Coach Tina Phillips said. "Jordan was dominant in the circle. Nice to see the bats wake up in the second game. Maddy was huge and it was nice to see East and Betty hit as well. Mel did her job and gave us a nice win."

In the first game, Jordan Uhing tossed a complete-game, one-hit shutout. She struck out 10 Pioneers, the most since Sydney Mosby's four double-digit strikeout games in 2014. It is the first 10-strikeout game since Sarah Angeletti hit the decade mark on April 10, 2010.

Then in the second game, Maddy Hillery continued her hot hitting going 3-for-4 with six RBIs, two doubles and a run scored. Hillery's outburst marks the third six-RBI game in program history and the first since Lauryn Weaver's such performance on April 21, 2010.

Gabby Carpenter went 2-for-3 with three runs scored in game two.

In the day's first action, Uhing and Alfred State's Brittany Fisher took a scoreless tie in the seventh.

The Panthers broke the silence in the top of the seventh with three-straight two-out singles that led to a run.

Hannah Lathrop kept the inning alive with a base knock, then Madison East singled.

Then for the second-straight game, Melissa Nye delivered the game-winning single to center field, scoring Maeghan Wynn.

Uhing improves to 8-3 on the season completing her 10th complete game of the season while earning her fourth shutout.

In game two, Hillery got things started with an RBI single in the first, then clubbed a two-run double to left center in the second.

Liz Dzurisin sent home Mackenzie Bonyak on a sacrifice fly later in the second and the Panthers took a 4-0 lead into the bottom half.

Pitt-Bradford then broke the game open with a seven-run third.

Betty Fratercangelo singled home Lindsey Hull, then Grace Dadzaa scored on a Bonyak walk, then Hillery delivered the big hit -- a bases-loaded, bases-clearing double to deep center field.

A two-run single from East capped the scoring for the inning and the Panthers took an 11-0 lead.

Alfred State plated one in the fourth on a Panther throwing error, but that would be the only run the Pioneers would get and the Panthers held on for the 11-1 win in five innings.

Melanie Davis earned the complete-game win in the circle, improving to 2-3 on the season.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will return to AMCC action hosting Franciscan Saturday. First pitch for game one is set for 1 p.m. with game two starting around 3 p.m.
