Pitt-Bradford Softball To Host Westminster For Home Opener Sunday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team is set to host Westminster Sunday at the Kessel Athletics Complex for its home opener.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a 6-4 stretch through 10 non-conference games in Fort Myers, Fla., during spring break.

The Panthers own a 7-7 overall record, tied with Penn State-Altoona for the third-most wins in the AMCC.

So far this season, Pitt-Bradford has gotten good outings from Jordan Uhing in the circle. 

The reigning AMCC Pitcher of the Week owns a 4-2 record with the fourth-most strikeouts in the conference with 28 while ranking fifth in the conference with a 2.76 ERA.

Offensively, Liz Dzurisin leads the squad with a .419 batting average and three doubles.

Mackenzie Bonyak is the other Panther hitting above .400 (.407), Grace Dadzaa leads the team with 16 hits and Sophia Fratercangelo has driven in the most runs with seven RBIs.

Westminster comes to Pitt-Bradford with a 5-7 overall record while riding a four-game losing skid.

Haley Bedalota leads the team with a .500 batting average and a homer and triple.

In the circle, Krystyna Burdelski and Madison Brown have split time with Burdelski amassing a 3-3 overall record with 21 strikeouts and Brown boasting a 2-4 mark with 25 strikeouts.

Sunday's contests are set for a 1 p.m. start.
