Uhing Named AMCC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Official AMCC Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Sophomore Jordan Uhing of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance during the period of March 11-17, conference officials announced Monday.

"Jordan is off to a great start," Head Coach Tina Phillips said. "She works hard. She was dominant this week and did a great job of hitting her spots."

Uhing earned a blemish-free 4-0 record in as many starts during the week.

The Aliquippa, Pa., native threw every possible inning of her four starts during the team's 10-game Florida trip.

In 26 innings of work, she boasted a 1.08 ERA, struck out 21, walked just three and allowed 24 hits.

Her wins came against SUNY Canton, RIT, Curry and Knox.

She allowed just four earned runs, with two apiece coming against RIT and Knox.

Uhing's stellar week helped the Panthers earn a 6-4 record while in the sunshine state.

She is already the second Panther to earn the AMCC Pitcher of the Week nod as Kerrigan Hoffmann garnered the honor on March 4. Pitt-Bradford swept the weekly awards that week as Liz Dzurisin was the Player of the Week.

Pitt-Bradford will now head back to Bradford and prepare for its home opener Saturday against Westminster.
