FORT MYERS, Fla. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team picked up wins in each of its two games Tuesday, first defeating Rivier in five innings followed by a tough 6-5 win over Drew.

Jordan Uhing tossed all five innings in the first game to earn the victory.

Emily McIntosh and Betty Fratercangelo drove in a pair of runs apiece to help power the 10-2 win.

In the second game, Morgan Bellush earned the win in the circle and Kerrigan Hoffmann earned the save.

Jenna Fellows went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Liz Dzurisin drove in a pair of runs as well, and Madison East dropped in three hits.

Game one: Pitt-Bradford 10, Rivier 2 (5 innings)

"It was a good day today," Head Coach Tina Phillips said. "The bats were hot today. We swung at good pitches and did a great job of having quality at-bats. Our defense was good and Jordan pitched a great game."

Rivier struck first with a run in the top of the second inning on an infield single.

But the lead would be short lived as the Panthers plated three in the bottom half of the frame.

With Maddy Hillery and Fellows aboard, McIntosh brought them both home with a double down the line in right field.

McIntosh later scored on a bunt single from Grace Dadzaa, putting the Panthers on top 3-1.

After a leadoff single, Uhing held Rivier quiet in the top of the third as she struck out the next three batters swinging.

Rivier added a run in the top of the fourth, but the Panthers broke the game open with a six-spot in the bottom half.

Jenna Hicks came into score on a throwing error by the Rivier catcher, and Uhing singled home Karissa Cratty.

Dadzaa then sent home Uhing on a single to right, but the ball got past the right fielder and she advanced all the way to third.

Betty Fratercangelo roped a double to right-center field that plated Dadzaa, and she later scored off a ball batted by Madison East.

In the bottom of the fifth, Betty Fratercangelo singled home McIntosh to give Pitt-Bradford the walk-off 10-2 win by way of the eight-run rule.

At the plate, Dadzaa, Betty Fratercangelo, Hicks and McIntosh had two hits apiece to lead the Panthers' 12-hit effort.

Uhing tossed all five innings and struck out four while walking just one batter.

Game two: Pitt-Bradford 6, Drew 5

"It's nice to be on the other side of one-run game against Drew," Phillips said. "Morgan battled and our defense held."

Drew jumped out to a quick lead with a run in the top of the first.

But Pitt-Bradford would answer as Dzurisin gave the Panthers the lead with a two-run double in the right-center field gap.

Fellows kept the inning going with a two-run single over the first baseman's head, putting the Panthers ahead 4-1.

But Drew put together a big second inning, scoring three to tie the game up at 4-4.

The Panthers cut the tie in the third inning as Hribal reached on a bunt single, and a throwing error by the Drew pitcher allowed Fellows and Hillery to score.

In the top of the fifth, Dzurisin saved a run as she dove to her left and made a diving stop on a ground ball down the first-base line, ending the frame.

Drew got one back in the top of the sixth on an RBI double, and the two teams eventually took a 6-5 score into the final inning.

In the seventh, Hoffmann worked two quick outs, but Drew wouldn't go that easily.

Back-to-back singles out the tying run at second base, but Hoffmann induced a pop out in foul territory to Dzurisin and the Panthers held on to earn their third-straight win.

In addition to Fellows and East's three-hit performances, Dadzaa earned a pair of hits herself as part of the 13 total Panther hits.

Bellush tossed the first four innings before Hoffmann came on in relief for the final three. Each pitcher struck out one.

The Panthers will be back in action Thursday as they take on New Jersey City and Waynesburg at Century Link Field 2.
