CRESSON, Pa. - Pitt-Bradford softball saw its season come to an end Sunday, after Mt. Aloysius swept the Panthers by scores of 6-0 and 10-3.

The Panthers needed to win just one game on the final day of the regular season to secure an AMCC tournament bid but mustered only seven totals hits in two games against the Mounties.

Mt. Aloysius' Morgan Rackish stifled the Panthers in game one, allowing just three hits over seven scoreless innings.

The Mounties scored in each of the first two innings to build a 2-0 lead, and a four-run fourth put the game away for good. Pitt-Bradford mounted little resistance, failing to register a hit off Rackish after the third inning.

Pitt-Bradford starter Cassidy Lewis gave up six runs, two earned, on 10 hits over four innings. Sam Hribal pitched a scoreless fifth and sixth inning for the Panthers.

Facing a must-win scenario in game two, the Panthers jumped out to an early lead only to see it quickly disappear in a disastrous fifth inning.

Madison East had a RBI groundout in the first, and Liz Dzurisin's two-run single in the third moved the Panthers in front 3-1. Mt. Aloysius cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fourth and erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to bury the Panthers' postseason hopes for good.

Morgan Bellush gave up a leadoff single to Caroline Sho, and Hannah Ruby doubled, scoring Sho to tie the game at three. Emily Wawros singled in the next at bat, scoring Ruby for the go-ahead run. Bellush would allow another double, officially ending her afternoon. Hribal came on in relief and retired the first batter she faced but would yield a pair of two-run triples to two of the next three batters.

Bellush surrendered six runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out one, and Hribal was charged for three runs on five hits. For the second straight game, the Panthers didn't have a hit after the third inning.

Pitt-Bradford finishes the season 15-24 overall and 7-11 in the AMCC.
