Pitt-Bradford softball player Madison East was named the AMCC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
East hit a blistering .600 (9-15) in four games last week for the Panthers, upping her season average to .390. Five of her nine hits went for extra bases, including connecting for her second homer of the season against Pitt-Greensburg Sunday, as she slugged 1.200. The freshman centerfielder drove in seven runs, pushing her team-leading total to 19 RBIs, scored four times and stole a base.
On the season, the Milton, Pennsylvania, native ranks among the AMCC leaders in RBIs, home runs, and batting average.
It marks the first time in her career East has received the conference's weekly honor.
