The Pitt-Bradford softball team's doubleheader with Elmira was cut short Thursday by poor weather conditions.

The Soaring Eagles blanked the Panthers 3-0 in the opening game before significant rainfall in between contests forced officials to cancel game two.

Pitt-Bradford's struggles at the plate continued from yesterday, as the Panthers managed just four hits and advanced only two runners past second base.

Liz Dzurisin was the tough-luck loser, allowing three runs on 11 hits in a complete-game effort. She walked one and struck out one.

Elmira went ahead 1-0 in the first inning, and a two-run single in the fourth accounted for all the scoring.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 5-14 on the season and travels to Penn State Altoona Saturday.
