Panthers Drop Two in Erie

ERIE, Pa. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team (8-24, 2-12) lost both games of an AMCC doubleheader at Penn State Behrend (14-10, 6-2) on Tuesday afternoon.

The Panthers dropped the opener, 8-0, in six innings and then fell, 5-0, in the nightcap.

Jenna Dean led the Panthers at the plate with two hits in the opener while Amber Fox, Liz Dzurisin and Grace Dadzaa chipped in with one hit each in the loss.

The Lions scored two runs in the first, four more in the fifth and two in the sixt to earn the victory in the opener. Sarah Blagg led the Penn State Behrend offense with two hits and two RBI.

Dzurisin had the only hit for the Panthers in game two while Taylor Collins took the loss, despite striking out three over three strong innings in the circle. Cassidly Lewis tossed the final three innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out two.

Shannon McDonnell led the Lion's offense, going 3-4 with two RBI while AJ Nichols tossed a complete-game, one hit, shutout in the circle.

The Panthers return to action Saturday afternoon at one for an AMCC doubleheader against Mount Aloysius at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
