BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team (8-22, 2-10) dropped a pair of, 6-2, decisions to Pitt-Greensburg (8-22, 6-10).

"We just can't put a full game together in all aspects," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Tina Phillips. "Taylor gave us a great outing, a game we should have won, but we're not going to win much when we have key errors or walk leadoff batters."

Nicole Nolte led the Panthers at the plate, going 2-4 with two RBI while Meagan Hillard added two hits. Amber Fox, Liz Dzurisin, Emily Fair, Maddy Hillery and Taylor Collins added one hit each in the game one loss.

Collins took the loss in the circle despite a strong complete game effort. She allowed just three earned runs on seven hits and struck out one.

Sarah Giebel led the Bobcat's offense with two RBI while Kellie Hutchinson, Morgan Russo, Alyssa Panza and Casey Hamilton drove in one run each in the opener. Marley Lafferty picked up the win with a complete game, striking out three while allowing two runs on nine hits.

Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on three unearned runs in the top of the third.

Pitt-Bradford got one back on Nolte's first RBI single of the day in the home half of the third, tightening the deficit to just two runs at 3-1.

Nolte added another RBI single to right in the bottom of the fifth, bringing the Panthers within one run at 3-2 late in the game.

However, the Bobcats picked up three insurance runs, putting the game out of reach in the seventh and hanging on for the 6-2 victory in the opener.

Fox led the Panther offense in the second game, going 2-3 while Hillery went 1-2 with a walk and an RBI double. Fair added a hit while Cassidy Lewis took the loss in the circle, allowing six runs on 12 hits and striking out two over seven innings of work.

Giebel again led the Bobcat's offense with three hits and two RBI while Hutchinson, Russo, Panza and Lafferty added an RBI in game two. Kara Barclay picked up the victory with a complete game effort in the circle, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out one and walking three.

The Bobcats scored two runs in the second, two more in the fourth and then added two in the top of the seventh to take a 6-0 lead.

The Panthers tried to claw their way back into the game with two runs in the home half of the seventh on Hillery's RBI single and Lewis' RBI groundout to second. However, it was too little, too late as the Bobcats hung on for the 6-2 victory in the nightcap.

"We are young and have to keep working on figuring things out," Phillips said. "We just played nine games in five days. That's a long stretch and we battled so I am proud of them for that."

The Panthers return to AMCC action Tuesday afternoon for a doubleheader at Penn State Behrend. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. in Erie.
