Penn State-Behrend Tops Panthers

ERIE, Pa. -- Penn State-Behrend defeated the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team, 9-0, Sunday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match.

"Today we hit an ambitious competitor," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "As mediocre defenders, we were overpowered. We need to continue to work on our splits, crosscourt and down the line, to open up points."

In doubles action, the No. 3 team of Matt Dennis and Jeffrey Kocjancic worked a close contest but ultimately fell, 8-4.

In singles action, Tyler Dugan gave his opponent a tough match in the top spot, nearly taking the first set, 7-5, before falling in the second, 6-2.

Jacob Volz, Dennis, Drew Patla, David Ta and Kocjancic also competed in singles action.

Up next, the Panthers will host Mount Aloysius Saturday.
