Dugan Named AMCC Men's Tennis Player Of The Week

BRADFORD, Pa. – Sophomore Tyler Dugan of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the period running from Feb. 19-25, conference officials announced Monday.

"It is nice to see Tyler start the season as Player of the Week," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "He was a contributing player in a tough doubles match with Jacob Volz, the duo needing to take advantage of opportunities and chances in order to win. In singles, whenever his opponents hit an aggressive shot, he was able to play defense so well it was leading to offense. This award shows that he's on top of his game and it validates his work ethic."

The Galeton, Pa., native was instrumental in the Panthers earning their first victory of the season, 5-4, over Alfred Friday.

Dugan picked up a convincing win in No. 2 singles while also teaming up with Jacob Volz for a victory in the top doubles spot.

The sophomore has won his first two singles matches of the spring season so far and he and Volz lead the team with two doubles victories.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on March 17 as the Panthers host Penn State-Altoona for their first AMCC match.
