Pitt-Bradford Swimmers to Participate in Allegheny Empire Swimming Championships

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swim teams have traveled to Rochester, N.Y. to participate in the Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championships. The championship meet is a joint competition that will include teams from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and the Empire 8 Athletic Conference.

The championship meet will last four days with different events spread out among the days of competition. Each day will have swimming preliminary trial rounds that begin at 10:00 a.m., diving trials at 1:00 p.m. and final rounds in a separate session at 6:00 p.m. each night. The meet will be scored in the same format as the regular season, with the top three finishers receiving awards. The points scored in each event will be tallied over the four days of the competition to determine team champions. There will be a champion named for each conference, with the highest-scoring team being declared the winner of the entire meet.

The Panthers head to Webster after having nearly a month to prepare. The men have picked up one dual victory and a second-place finish at the ECC Invitational in November. The women's team also finished in 2nd at the ECC Invitational. Competitors for the men's team will be senior Carey Behm, sophomore Chris Troll and freshmen CJ Faris, Tyler Sortore, and Connor Weiss. Sophomore Lauryn Kahle and freshman Adriana Gallas will swim for the women's team.
