Swimming Falls to Penn State-Behrend

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swim teams were back in action on Monday, swimming in a match against Penn State-Behrend that was rescheduled from Saturday. The men's team fell by a score of 117-47, while the women lost 96-16.

  • Carey Behm picked up second-place points with a strong performance in the 200-yard freestyle. He finished the race in 1:54.39, just over a second behind the winner.
  • Lauryn Kahle took third in the hotly contested 50-yard freestyle. Her time was 29.99 seconds. The winner of the event finished in 29.07 seconds with the runner up at 29.17.
  • Behm, Adriana Gallas, and Connor Weiss all picked up 9 points as the lone swimmers in their events to complete the race without being disqualified. Behm took the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.70, and Gallas (1:34.26) and Weiss (1:19.55) won the 100-yard breaststroke events.
  • The Pitt-Bradford men closed the match with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay. They finished the event in 1:52.43.

The Pitt-Bradford swim teams will have 5 days off before they compete in their last home action of the season. On Saturday, they will host Franciscan and Baldwin Wallace in a tri-meet. The event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Duke Aquatic Center.
