Swim Teams Fall to Alfred U, Improve Times

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swimming teams improved many of their times from the first two meets of the season, but both fell to the teams from Alfred University on Friday Night.

The Panthers were able to win 5 events on the night. Tyler Sortore won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.04. Carey Behm finished first in the 500 yard freestyle and Adriana Gallas won the 100 yard breaststroke. Connor Weiss and Chase Dibble also put in strong performances to finish 1st and second in the 100 yard breast stroke. 

Pitt-Bradford was also able to win the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Carey Behm, CJ Faris, Tyler Sortore and Christopher Troll were ale to finish the relay with a time of 1:45.27.

When asked about the team's performance, head coach Chelsea Schwab said, "Our swimmers continue to work hard and improve. We saw some time improvements in some of our athletes while others were able to maintain previous times. We had standout performances from Tyler Sortore in the 100 backstroke and Carey Behm in the 1000 free. The women also showed some impressive improvements from last meet, with Adriana Gallas improving her times in all of her events by over 2 seconds."

The Pitt-Bradford swim team will be back in action Saturday, November 16th. They will travel to Washington & Jefferson, with the meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
