Pitt-Bradford Heads To Four-Day 2019 AMCC Championships Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford swim teams are set to head off to the main events of their 2018-19 seasons -- the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships.

The event will take place at the Junker Center on the campus of Penn State-Behrend starting Wednesday and running through Saturday.

A season ago, the Pitt-Bradford men's team earned the AMCC Runner-Up and will look for similar success at the championships this season.

For Pitt-Bradford, the conference championships will begin Wednesday evening with the 800-freestyle relay.

Action Thursday resumes with the prelims at 10 a.m. for the 500-freestyle, 200-IM and 50-freestyle, followed by the finals for those events as well as the 400-medley relay at 6 p.m.

Friday morning's prelims will be the 400-IM, 100-butterfly, 200-freestyle, 100-breaststroke and 100-backstroke. Included in the evening's finals will be the 200-medley relay.

The final day of action, Saturday will start with prelims for the 200-backstroke, 100-freestyle, 200-breaststroke, 200-butterfly and the slowest heats of the 1,650-freestyle. Then that evening, after the finals of the morning's events, the event will conclude with the 400-freestyle relay.

Each finals event will be honored with podium awards shortly after its conclusion that night. Saturday night, the AMCC championship teams and the conference runner-ups will be presented with the championship trophies.

Highlighting the Pitt-Bradford projections is Noah Frederick's seed time of 1:01.64 in the men's 100-breaststroke, which ranks him third in the conference. He also enters the championships with the fourth-fastest time in the 200-breaststroke at 2:17.95.

Freshman Caleb Hansen has earned the fourth-fastest seed time in the men's 100-backstroke (57.57) and the fifth-fastest times in the 200-back (2:10.45) and 100-freestyle (50.40).

Devyn Condon owns the fifth-fastest seed time in the 200-butterfly at 2:09.91.

Topping the Pitt-Bradford relay projections are the men's 200-freestyle relay (1:32.78) and the 200-medley relay (1:43.56), which both stand as the third-best seed times in the AMCC.

On the women's side, Kayla Broad enters the conference championships with the fourth-best seed times in the 100-backstroke (1:07.67) and 100-butterfly (1:08.73). She also enters with the fifth-fastest seed time in the AMCC in the 100-freestyle at 59.26.

Wednesday's action will begin at 6 p.m. while the rest of the week will run with 10 a.m. preliminaries and 6 p.m. finals.
