Chris Troll Named AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Week

Official AMCC Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Freshman Chris Troll of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's swim team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performance during the period of Jan. 7-13, conference officials announced Monday.

"This is an exciting nomination for Chris," Head Coach Doug Alban said. "He is an extremely hard worker in the pool and weight room. He really had an unbelievable 200-breaststroke, dropping 11 seconds on his lifetime best, which is exceptional with the level of tired he's at after our holiday training."

The Somerset, Pa., native earned a pair of individual wins in the tri-meet at Buffalo State, helping Pitt-Bradford to a victory over Wells in the process.

He earned the second victory of the day for Pitt-Bradford, finishing the men's 100-breaststroke in 1:07.23, edging out a competitive opponent that finished just 0.17 seconds behind.

Troll's second victory of the day came in the men's 200-breaststroke with his lifetime best of 2:29.90.

Saturday's action was the team's first competition since the midseason meet at Wooster from Nov. 29-Dec. 1.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Friday, Jan. 18, as Alfred State comes to town for the final home event of the season.
