Scarlett Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- The 2022 University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer season got off to a strong start this weekend as after completing a tough opening stretch 1-1, goalkeeper Jared Scarlett was named Defensive Player of the Week by the AMCC.

Scarlett made 21 saves as Pitt-Bradford picked up their first victory of the season, defeating Thiel 2-1. Scarlett kept the Tomcats off the board through a barrage of shots for 70+ minutes as the Panthers built a 2-0 lead and then after allowing a goal, made several more important saves to secure the victory.

This is the first time Scarlett has won this award, and he is the first Panther goalkeeper to be named Defensive Player of the Week since 2019, when Sihle Sizani won it twice.

Scarlett and the rest of the Panthers will be back in action over the weekend, when they head to Steubenville, Oh. to take on Muskingum and Franciscan.
