Franciscan Tops Panthers In AMCC Action Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team fell to Franciscan, 3-0, Saturday at a wet, cold Kessel Athletic Complex Saturday.

With the setback, Pitt-Bradford falls to 3-12 overall and 2-5 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.

Franciscan took its lead on its first shot attempt on the day just two minutes into the contest. 

The Barons were awarded a corner kick attempt, and on a ball bouncing around inside, a header attempt found its way to the back of the net.

The 1-0 lead held up until the 28th minute when the Barons doubled their lead with a strike from 35 yards out that found the upper left corner.

The Barons eventually took its 2-0 lead into halftime.

Franciscan outshot the parents 6-4 in the half.

The Barons rounded out the scoring with its third and final goal in the 61st minute, as the ball was taken off the keeper's feet, gain control and took a shot falling to his right that found the net.

Derrick Brock started in goal for Pitt-Bradford but Sihle Sizani came out for the second half. Both keepers made a pair of saves each.

The Panthers outshot the Barons, 5-3, in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net.

In total, the shots were even, 9-9.

Four of the Panthers' nine shots went on goal. 

Chase Rider, Collin Irwin, Dakotah Graham and Ryuta Hayakawa each put a shot on goal.

Graham and Rider led the team with a pair of shots fired each.
