BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team picked up its second-straight victory in shutout fashion Wednesday against Hilbert at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
The Panthers (3-9-0, 2-2-0, AMCC) defeated the Hilbert Hawks (0-8-0, 0-3-0 AMCC) 4-0 in the AMCC contest.
"We didn't play disciplined today," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "But we found a way to win."
Ugwunna Amadi led the way with a pair of goals -- one in each half -- to help power the Panthers' offense.
Nicholas DiStefano and Noah Black each scored their first goals of the season.
Ryuta Hayakawa assisted a pair of the Panthers' goals.
In goal, Derrick Brock played all 90 minutes, making a pair of saves in earning his first victory of the season.
Pitt-Bradford controlled the ball in Hilbert territory for much of the contest, outshooting the Hawks 39-4. The Panthers put 23 of those shots on goal.
DiStefano got the day started with a goal just 1:20 into the contest, taking a feed from Hayakawa on the left side and firing a shot past the Hilbert keeper that ended up in the right side netting.
Amadi scored the second goal of the contest in the 14th minute and he fought for possession inside the Hilbert box and knocked one past the keeper to double the Panthers' lead.
The two teams went quietly the rest of the half and the Panthers took the 2-0 lead into the break.
In the 59th minute, a Hilbert foul inside its own box allowed for a Panthers' penalty kick.
Black lined it up and knocked it home, putting Pitt-Bradford up 3-0.
In the 67th minute, Amadi scored his second goal of the game and the final strike of the contest as Hayakawa sent a long cross from the left sideline that he collected and finished.
21 different Panthers saw time on the pitch in the game, with Jahmaal Buckley and Jacob Johnson logging their first minutes of the season.
Up next, the Panthers will welcome La Roche Saturday for a 3:15 p.m. kickoff.
