Panthers Head To Allegheny For Non-Conference Action Thursday

BRADFORD, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team will hit the road for a contest at Allegheny Thursday.

Pitt-Bradford is coming off a tough 2-1 double-overtime defeat in its home opener Monday against Thiel.

Dakotah Graham scored for the Panthers in the 72nd minute to tie the game. The two teams were unable to score the rest of regulation, and to overtime they went.

Pitt-Bradford fired a pair of shots in the first overtime but was unable to find the back of the net.

But in the second overtime period, Thiel found its game winner on a header, securing the victory.

Derrick Brock started in goal for the Panthers and made five saves.

Prior to Monday's contest, the Panthers earned their first victory of the season Saturday against Muskingum, led by a pair of goals from freshman Chase Rider.

As a result, Rider was named the AMCC Player of the Week, honored after just his first week of collegiate soccer.

After the opening weekend, Rider led the AMCC in goals scored and was the only player with a multi-goal game.

Allegheny welcomes the Panthers with an even 1-1 record, first falling at Juniata (Aug. 31) before beating Penn State-Altoona (Sept. 1), 5-0.

Thursday's game will be the Gators' home opener. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
