Rider Named AMCC Player of the Week

Official AMCC Release

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Freshman Chase Rider of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for his performance during the opening weekend of Aug. 31 - Sept. 3, conference officials announced Tuesday.

"Chase has been doing well going forward and creating goal-scoring opportunities," Head Coach Nathan Whitehurst said. "And against Muskingum, he was able to finish a few of those opportunities."

The Feasterville, Pa., native started his collegiate career with a bang, scoring a pair of goals Saturday against Muskingum to lead the Panthers to their first victory of the 2018 season.

Just 1:34 into his second collegiate contest, Rider took a feed from Ryuta Hayakawa and finished, giving the Panthers an early lead.

His second goal then came 20 minutes into the second half, giving Pitt-Bradford a commanding 3-1 lead that the Panthers would hold onto.

On the week, he started all three matches and fired four total shots, all of which going on net.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Thursday at Allegheny.
